World: Solidera
The Barbarian (PART I)
Lore
Since they got in contact with people from Carlin and
built their settlement in Hrodmir, the Nordic barbarians kept reclusive in
their frozen islands, mostly dealing with their internal conflicts and avoiding
too much interference from outsiders. Yet, Sven the Younger, Jarl of the Nordic
tribes, decided to drastically change their politics regarding reclusion after
a dreadful warning from his mother, a powerful druid and foreseer from the
elder council of Nibelor. The Jarl started to recruit brave warriors among the
Nordic tribes to travel abroad and fight the evil that is spreading around the
world before it reaches their beloved hometown. Now, Barbarians war cries are
heard in every corner, making shadows tremble and flee.
Strong points:
- Barbarians are warmongers and excel in the use of
offensive tactics and powerful blows;
- Superior hitpoint regeneration due to their
sturdiness and constitution;
- They can wield two weapons (a primary one and a
secondary one), granting them an extra attack per round;
- They are mana independent: their fierceness grants
them boosts, extra damage and/or speed;
- They are excellent all-in warriors, once a target is
chosen, a barbarian will most likely not retreat until it has fallen;
- Very agile warriors, they can move swiftly among
mobs and apply their combo avoiding getting swarmed;
- Great elemental resistance kit granted by abilities;
Drawnbacks:
- Barbarians can’t wield shields or heavy armors;
- Fierceness regeneration is directly dependent on damage
output;
- Their low armor status in general makes them fragile
and susceptible to high risk of death;
- They don’t use spells, hence can’t use runes;
- They are very dependent on their Fierceness and
Health management to endure long combats and perform efficient combos.
Vocation status per
level and regeneration numbers:
Each level up, a barbarian will get:
- 15 oz of capacity;
- 10 hitpoints;
- 20 Fierceness points
- As time passes, Barbarians regenerate 1 hitpoint
every 4 seconds
- Fierceness regenerates every time a Barbarian deals
or takes damage: for each hitpoint of damage dealt or taken, a Barbarian will
regenerate 0.5 points of Fierceness. If a Barbarian is below 50% of his health
bar, the regeneration is doubled.
Skills:
Barbarians are primarily dual-weapon wielders, their Melee skills (fist, axe, club and sword)
can be trained very effectively. Since they are masters in the art of dueling,
their progress in these skills is 10% more effective than knights. If a
Barbarian trains with two different weapons classes (i.e. a sword and an axe),
he will advance in both classes, but the secondary weapon skill class will
advance 25% slower.
A barbarian has no magic level skill;
A barbarian has no shielding skill.
All Barbarians are excellent fisherman, so their
fishing skill increases 25% faster than other vocations;
A Barbarian can train distance skill, but he/she will
only progress as well as a Knight.
Promotion:
At level 20, a Barbarian can be promoted to Warmonger
Barbarian in Svargrond with Sven the Younger. The Jarl is the only one that can
promote Barbarians.
A Warmonger Barbarian will regenerate 1 hitpoint every
3 seconds. For each hitpoint of damage dealt or taken, a Warmonger Barbarian
will regenerate 1 point of Fierceness. If a Barbarian is below 50% of his
health bar, the regeneration is doubled.
